Swapping twitter for tumblr
Sep. 9th, 2009 02:22 pmSo, I deleted my twitter account. Whilst I was enjoying the interactions with friends and some of the 'celebrity' accounts, it was starting to feel a bit...frivolous and redundant. Any brief updates I wanted to make go on Facebook anyway, and it's not as if I'm twittered all the time anyway, and it does seem more suitable if you have a lot of little things to say. And it wasn't really adding much to my online life, and proved more of a distraction for when I should be writing (and believe me, I have enough online distractions).
So instead I have added another distraction instead: tumblr. Mine is here: http://jacquib.tumblr.com/
We'll see how this goes, but so far, I like it very much. I kept wanting to put links of interesting things I'd read up here in the blog, but the effort of html, and the sense I had to say something very meaningful along with it, made me reluctant to. I didn't realise how easy they were to set up, and they are also very easy to use. But I'll stop now before I sing it's praises too highly. Give it a bit longer and see how it goes.
